About the Series

About the series

Dear Visitor,

The Salford Schools' Cross Country Races are a series of four races held on Saturday mornings across Salford.

Schools are invited to enter teams of children or individual runners in all or some of the races. Following the final race, a presentation will be held to award medals to the top three teams and top three individuals in each category. Individual entries are also accepted-  please email us for an entry form

Please note that it is normal for the events to continue in wind and rain, yet on occasions of extremes of snow and ice, or unusually heavy rain, events have in the past been cancelled. On some occasions weather circumstances mean that a decision to cancel may not be made until the morning of the event.- if in doubt check the website.

In the event of a meeting being postponed team managers will be notified via email in the week leading up to the event and a notice placed at the top of this mini site

If you need to contact the organising team for any reason then please do so by e-mailing  salfordschoolsxc@hotmail.co.uk

Want to help?

We would warmly welcome any staff or parents that would be willing to assist with marshalling. There are also other ways in which you can help. Please use the above e-mail address if you are able to offer your assistance.

Notice to supporters

And finally- while races take place in public parks, we would respectfully ask that all supporters and spectators lend their support in an enthusiastic but appropriate manner. The event is run by volunteers for the enjoyment of our children. We want everyone to leave having had a positive experience. Any inappropriate behaviour, whether verbal or physical, reflects badly on us all and leaves indelible marks on our children and on our event. We appreciate your co-operation in this matter.
