Diwali Parent Workshop

Date: 5th Nov 2024 @ 9:32am

A morning of learning and celebration

The parent workshop kicked off with an introduction to the significance of Diwali. Parents and children learned about the different traditions associated with the festival, from lighting lamps and decorating homes to enjoying sweets and gathering with loved ones.

Hands-On Craft Workshop

After the assembly, families were invited to join in on a variety of hands-on activities that allowed them to express their creativity and take part in Diwali traditions.

Rangoli Making: Using colourful powders, grown-ups and children worked together to create intricate Rangoli patterns, symbolising welcoming positive energy and prosperity into their homes.

Diyas and Lantern Painting: families decorated traditional lamps, or diyas, as well as paper lanterns to light up their homes for Diwali. Many children enjoyed painting diyas in bright colours, adding sparkles and learning how these lights symbolise the festival's core values of hope and renewal.

Why celebrating Diwali together matters

Diwali is not just a celebration, it's a chance to connect, learn and celebrate cultural diveristy.
