‘Working together to fulfil potential’

Year 1

Welcome back!

This term we are focusing on History. Our Topic question is:

'What has changed since your Grandparents were young?'

During this topic we will be researching the events, fashion styles, toys, music and television from the 1960s.

We will be using non-fiction books and internet research to answer our question.

We will also be inviting Grandparents in for an afternoon of tea, cake, biscuits and questions! (date to be confirmed)

Don't forget to check the James Brindley Twitter page; @JamesBrindleyPS for more updates too.

Our Assembly is on May 25th

Our PE days are Mondays and Tuesdays.

Please make sure PE kits are in school for these days - including pumps.

Please remove earrings for PE days or ensure your child knows how to remove them.

Please take the time to look through the Year 1 end of year expectations below.

If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to speak to us or make an appointment.

We look forward to a successful year with your child.

Grandparent Interviews

Grandparents who ventured into Year One yesterday were interviewed to within an inch of their lives by our fabulous and inquisitive children. The children showed great interest in what the world was like in "black and white" and all grandparents who attended were very happy to relay tales of their own school days. As this was such a lovely social event, cold drinks and cakes were very much necessary to complete the afternoon. Thank you to all grandparents who were able to enlighten our children about days gone by.
