Ahead of the Salford Schools Cross Country Championships, Team James Brindley turned out in numbers for the final race of the Salford METS XC Series.
Once again we had a number of debutants who acquitted themselves very well indeed. Congratulations to Phoebe Woodard, Madison Smith and Joshua Coppock. We look forward to you becoming an integral part of our squad.
A special mention must go to Shivani Mistry, who lost a considerable amount of time retrieving a shoe from the mud and had to spend the rest of the race working her way through from the very back. Her composure and grace in dealing with adversity was very admirable. Similarly, a special mention for Ren Smith who, despite suffering debilitating cramp, finished the race strongly. Well done, Ren!
Our thanks and appreciation are once more extended to our families who continue to provide unswerving support to their children and our school.
Next week sees the opening race of the Salford Schools Cross Country Championships at Buile Hill Park. We ask that runners arrive at least 15 minutes before the start time as races start promptly.
