Race 3- Salford Schools Cross Country

Thankfully the forecast snow showers didn't materialise as our runners assembled on the start line at Buile Hill park for Race 3 of the Salford Schools' Cross Country Championships.

Team James Brindley were delighted to welcome three debutants for the season as Jasmine Wright, fresh from her victory in the school championships, lined up in the Year 3 and 4 Girls race. Her elder sister, Annabel, debuted in the Year 5 and 6 Girls race while school champion, Toby Markham, took his bow in the senior boys race.

There were a number of remarkable runs this week with Millie Bayman, Lilly Matthews and Toby Markham all featuring in the dizzy heights of the top 5 in their respective races. Elsewhere, Lucy Thompson bravely leapt up after a heavy fall in the first 200metres to run a very strong race indeed. As ever, our sincerest thanks are extended to the runners and their families who transported and supported them, allowing them to proudly represent their school.

As usual, you can watch our highlights package in the videos below and see photos of our runners in action. Mr Graham extends his apologies to any runners that he couldn't manage to find in the packed fields. If he missed you this time, he'll be sure to catch you on camera next time.
