2017 Worsley Athletics Championships

More sporting success was achieved by our Key Stage 2 Athletics team on Tuesday evening when they competed at the annual Worsley Schools Athletics Championships. Our children are well used to this type of competition and recognised that every place was vital as points were accumulated one by one to achieve a grand total. When the results were declared, James Brindley were crowned as Small School Merit Award winners, a trophy that is decided by dividing the number of points earned by the number of children in Key stage 2. This was the second year in succession that the James Brindley team had achieved this accolade and further confirms the ability of the teams that we take to competitions. Special praise would need to go to Millie Bayman, winner of the Year 5/6 Girls 600m and for the Year 5/6 girls, 4x100m relay team (Moni Abioye, Amy Lever, Marissa Caldwell and Khizzie Crompton).
