2016-17 Salford Tag Rugby Championships

We were slightly more fortunate with the weather at the tournament this year. You have to be hardy to play tag rugby in November in Salford but thankfully we'd just the squad for the job.

After taking an early lead in our opening match we narrowly ended up  on the wrong side of a 2-1 scoreline against St Andrew's, Boothstown. In our second game, we were once more narrowly defeated 3-2 in a  very close run affair with St Edmund's. Still, the performances were excellent and we knew that victory was on the way. Our third match produced a display of passion and aggression as the team ran out 3-1 winners. Our final two games came thick and fast. While we didn't progress beyond our group, our children conducted themselves superbly in the face of variable weather and unpredictable games. I was very proud of each and every one of Team James Brindley.

As ever, thank you to the children and their parents for their fantastic support in braving the cold. We hope you'll enjoy watching the video highlights, below.
